Our vocational training programs are licensed by the Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education. Our 40+ employer partners from the Strip and Downtown Las Vegas consider a CALV certificate of completion equivalent to one year of job experience. Eligible Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and Bartenders Union Local 165 members qualify for free training as part of their union benefits package.
Students learn how to make beds, adhere to proper cleaning methods and chemical usages, check rooms, stock GRA carts, and follow proper safety responsibilities. Students gain applied learning experience in CALV’s mock hotel rooms.

Program Requirements: Minimum age 17-years-old; valid driver’s license/state ID, Social Security card; must be able to communicate effectively in English or complete Vocational English class, as recommended
Learn MoreStudents learn how to utilize various cleaning methods, handle chemicals, clean and use utility equipment, follow room check procedures, deliver guest requests, linen inventory, cart management, and safety and biohazards. Students gain applied learning experience in deep cleaning of various surfaces, including concrete, carpet, and tile.
